You could be just the person we're looking for.We're on the hunt for a Video Editor / Social Media whizz to help us in growing Australia's most trusted dog food brand – Scratch. You'll be teaming up with our Head of Creative, Izzi, to bring our brand to life and spread the awesomeness of dogs.Scratch is a fast-growing brand that makes healthy dog food for loving but time-poor dog owners. Instead of going through stores where there's tons of mark-ups and long waits in storage, we sell direct on subscription. This lets us know the dog & parent better, put more money into the food, and set an example for how much healthier & trustworthy pet food can be.This approach has helped us win both Frankie Mag's Small Business of the Year and the Online Retail Industries Best Small Independent Business. More importantly, it has meant we've also won over 50,000+ pet parents who trust us with their dog's nutrition.Our brand is crafted for a world where dogs have their own Insta accounts and no longer sleep in the yard. We want to capture that passion and create products for those who truly care.The role:We're all about creativity without the corporate fluff. This isn't an entry-level gig; you'll have plenty of freedom to flex your skills and show initiative, with support when you need it.You don't have to be a cinematographer—what we need is someone with solid experience in creating short-form video for another brand or agency and a good handle on social media management (think IG or TikTok). Someone who can shoot and edit lo-fi videos, brainstorm fresh ideas, and plan content. You should be a pro at turning dog stories and health tips into engaging, fun content for our socials, website, and ads. Speed is key, but we're not about that toxic hustle culture—just good vibes and great work. We've got a team of customer service legends who take care of community management so this role is all about the content side.We've got an in-house studio set up for you to use as you please at our "Dogs HQ" in Abbotsford, Melb. But you can also work remotely when you want so you can manage your workday to suit how you work best. As long as you're a strong communicator and get the job done, you'll do well here.You'll be responsible for:Bringing the fun out of dogs and ScratchWorking with our Copywriter and Designer to develop ideas, pitch them and bring them to lifeBrainstorming / ideating video concepts in response to ongoing content calendar activitiesEfficiently producing and editing new video creative for performance channels – paid social ads on Instagram, FB, Youtube, etc. and iterating on existing videosShooting and editing lo-fi videos for product launches, content campaigns, collabs and partnerships or just of dogs being dogsCapturing behind-the-scenes office content of good dogs and humansWorking with production companies for the more polished stuff (comfortable communicating your vision to other creatives and sourcing the people you need to bring that to life)Managing our content calendar for Instagram, creating a regular pipeline of relevant and engaging social media content. You'll produce the vids, and work closely with the creative team to get the words and designs you need to make Scratch's socials a chaotic good corner of the internet.Producing interview-style videos or educational content with our in-house vet and other talented experts and dog lovers to share their stories and adviceManaging all video assets in our libraryThe ideal person:A digital native who loves dogs, social media and making videosA whizz at social-first video – there's no need to tell you the dimensions for an IG story. Reels, Tik Tok, FB ads, YT vids, and more – you can jump in and help create channel-specific content using best practice.Come with a good understanding of what video content drives sales when creating ads. So 3+ years of brand experience would be ideal.A fast, experienced video editor. We tend to use Adobe (Premiere and After Effects) but have no problem if you prefer CapCut or other software.Always looking for the next content opportunity. You're observant and quick to jump on an idea – you see a trend as it kicks off, can decide if it's relevant for us then get it made before it gets oldComfortable presenting in front of the camera as needed or proactive about roping in team members or your mates in the industry to do so too (including your dog friends), sourcing talent on casting sites or using dogs you meet on the street as talent.Experienced enough to know when something needs polish or can be done more simplyAble to take an idea, run with it and bring something to life creatively fairly autonomouslyA team player, easy collaborator, open communicator and genuinely nice personAble to leave their ego at home and enjoy shaping the future of Scratch's contentCurious about what our audience is responding to and relaxed enough about your ideas to adapt them to feedback & dataAdditional experience in photography is a bonusStrong experience with social media management and content scheduling tools is also a plusWorking at ScratchThis is a 4-day role (30.4 hours like most of the business). This isn't an urgent role where you will come in and be under the pump straight away. It doesn't work for everyone, so we have an office in Melbourne (Abbotsford to be exact) if you prefer.Our creative team usually try to all be in the office one day a week together to collaborate, grab a sandwich and breathe each other's oxygen.
