Senior Consultant - Risk Advisory
About the Company & Role
Join a well-established and growing professional services company in the risk advisory team.
This role caters to the public sector, with key services including internal audits, risk management, risk workshops, risk consulting, and third-party assurance.

In this position, you will work closely with senior management to deliver a range of internal audits, reviews, and offer advice to clients in the public sector.

Duties and Responsibilities
Delivering internal audits, risk assurance, and process improvement projects.
Report writing and direct communication with clients.
Recommending policy, procedural process, system, and control improvements through internal audits.
Business development activities, such as networking, attending events, developing proposals, and pitching to prospective clients.
Preparing reports and assisting in the development of new methodologies and services.
Collaborating with the greater team to assist in scheduling work across the practice.
Mentoring and contributing to the development of junior staff (grads, consultants).
Maintaining relationships with clients and working with colleagues internally to identify future opportunities.
About You
Proven prior experience in internal audit or risk consulting, ideally in a professional services company.
Strong analytical and investigative skills.
Relevant degree in accounting or business (CAANZ & IIA Membership would be highly regarded).
Knowledge and understanding of internal audit and risk management standards and practices such as IIA and ISO31000.
Experience in undertaking internal audits, risk assessments, and risk management framework reviews.
Previous experience working with public sector clients is an advantage, particularly in internal auditing of basic financial and operational processes.
Exposure to Enterprise Resource Management Systems - SAP, Oracle, TechOne, etc.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently using professional judgment.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
