About Umwelt

Our Umwelt Brisbane team are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Consultant (Hydrogeology/Hydrology) with a demonstrated background in water consulting and project management.
About the Role:
As a Senior Consultant (Hydrogeology), you will play a crucial role in leading and managing hydrogeological and water related projects, providing expert advice, and supporting the growth of our services. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive groundwater/surface water studies, environmental impact assessments, and water management solutions for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage hydrogeological/hydrological investigations, which include site assessments, modelling, and testing.
Conduct or manage projects with water monitoring, testing and analysis, ensuring the quality of data collected and managed.
Ability to piece together data and information to build the broader picture of potential source, cause and impact pathways.
Manage medium and large-scale projects from proposal to completion, building strong client relationships and communication.
Work across a broad range of project types, from water/groundwater management plans, compliance reporting, trigger or water supply/security investigations, ecohydrological assessments, impact assessments, mine closure studies and legal work.
Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
Provide expert advice on groundwater/water issues, regulations, and best practices.
Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and other technical disciplines (i.e. ecology, social, cultural heritage and spatial analysis) to develop innovative and tailored solutions.
Support junior staff and work with technical leads, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
About You:
Degree qualifications in Hydrogeology, Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in water/environmental consulting
Sound capabilities in managing hydrogeological/water related projects
Expertise in visualisation and GIS software (i.e. QGIS, MapInfo, ArcGIS)
Strong analytical and problem-solving, and project management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely
Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced consulting environment
