As part of the NSW/ACT Environment team, the role of Senior Environmental Consultant is to deliver work as part of the current and future environment and planning approval pipeline. The primary focus of this role is to support several critical water, transport infrastructure, energy and science/technology projects. In particular, we look to continue to build our environmental planning offering in the renewable energy and offshore wind sector and to further develop key strategic relationships with our clients such as Sydney Water, Transgrid and Transport for NSW.
The Opportunity Carry out environmental assessments, development assessments, strategic assessments, technical coordination, design development and nature-based solutions for various projects. Help drive the business' transformational aspirations across Nature Positive, Natural Capital and Net Zero. Ensure work aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Work alongside our major clients to create key strategic relationships. Assist others with their work and ensure that deadlines are met. Is this role right for you? Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in science, environment, planning, engineering, or similar area. Relevant industry experience (5 years or more) in NSW environment impact assessment or planning approvals. Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership. Proven working knowledge of relevant NSW and Commonwealth environmental and planning legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines. Experience in statutory planning (desirable).
