As a Wind Construction Project Manager, you will be required to plan and supervise a wide range of wind construction projects from conception through to completion. You will manage factors including integration, scope, timelines, cost, quality, human resources, communication, risk, and procurement, ensuring all procedures are completed in a timely and effective manner.
This role requires strong communication skills from client to team and/or subcontractors and, if required, stakeholders. A strong commitment to a best practice safety leadership approach and leading by example across all aspects from employer to client and project is essential. You will be required to be well-versed in all wind construction methodologies and procedures and be able to coordinate a team of professionals from different disciplines to achieve the best results.
Roles and Responsibilities (but not limited to): Develop a cost-effective plan and schedule for completion of the project following a logical pattern for utilization of resources. Oversee, manage, and direct construction projects from beginning to end. Coordinate work of subcontractors, engineers, architects, and key members of the project team. Track and control construction schedule and associated costs to achieve completion of projects within budget. Negotiate with external vendors on contract agreements. Manage and achieve revenue goals set for projects. Ensure supplies and equipment are ordered and delivered according to schedule. Keep track of inventory, tools, and equipment. Keep all stakeholders aware of the progress on projects and prepare progress reports regularly. Minimize exposure and risk by implementing audit safety standards and quality assurance controls. Obtain the appropriate permits and licenses from authorities for construction sites. Monitor and guide compliance with building and safety regulations. Train and provide feedback to construction workers and subcontractors. Manage and mitigate risks. Delegate responsibilities. Handle any environmental or local community issues that may arise during a project. Arrange building inspections by local authorities when required. Prepare tenders and contract bids. Proactively identify changes in project scope and ensure appropriate measures are taken. Ensure all deadlines are met. Accurately forecast revenue, profitability, and project costs. Skills and Competencies: Wind farm construction management experience essential; 10 years minimum. BSc/BA degree in Engineering, Building Science, Construction Management, or other related field. PMP or an equivalent certification would be considered an asset. Proven working experience in construction management or a similar role. Outstanding communication and negotiation skills. Competent in conflict and crisis management. Excellent knowledge of construction management processes. Extensive previous work experience managing budgets for construction projects. Highly organized. Previous experience in a leadership role with strong proven leadership skills. Ability to plan ahead and multitask. Critical thinker and problem solver. Excellent knowledge of construction materials and equipment. Knowledge of relevant rules and regulations as well as quality standards and human resources. Proven experience with effective safety programs and procedures. Negotiation with major stakeholders, both clients and contractors. Proficient in MS Office. Time management skills. Ability to build a team environment and empower individuals to succeed. Relationship building, both internal and external. Ability to work in high-stress situations. Ability to lead by example. Driver's license. Passport to allow travel interstate and internationally. Summary of Role Requirements: Flexible hours available.
