Senior Conduct Risk Analyst •    Permanent •    Location: Sydney How will I help?
The role of Senior Conduct Risk Analyst in Data Platforms, you will support and advise our Risk and Compliance partners by providing in-depth analysis and actionable insights using Westpac's data and analytical assets.


Through this role, you will be able to strengthen Westpac's information and analytical capability to provide our business partners with self-serve information, identify and effectively communicate detection and reporting of misconduct, Responsible Lending and Sales Quality monitoring, malpractice and compliance breaches by employees. You will play a vital role in the mitigation of risk and the prevention of financial loss ensuring there is minimal effect on customers of Westpac.


Key responsibilities of this role include but is not limited to; Developing, supporting, maintaining, and monitoring analytics frameworks to identify, quantify and manage compliance breaches, lending practices and sales quality. Extract and analyse data using data warehouse and database management software to conduct complex database queries and setting up automated processes for ETL. Monitoring and analysis of non-compliant behaviours by detection performance and improvements through the development of rules, automation, creation of mitigation strategies etc.

What do I need?
To be a successful candidate for this role you will have excellent programming skills in SAS/Teradata SQL/SSIS packages. Familiar with and have experience setting up automated jobs. Control-M knowledge is preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to tell stories about data. Know-how of R or Python preferred. Extensive knowledge of various analytical and problem-solving techniques. General banking industry and financial concepts knowledge (Preferred). Knowledge of and experience in a Risk analytics or an environment where data analytics provided strategic or operational insight would be highly advantageous.
