Primary objective Undertake regulatory and compliance activities, including investigations, surveillance and operations across a range of legislative frameworks administered by the agency, particularly in the racing and wagering portfolios.
Adopt a solution-focused approach and undertake community and industry education and awareness as required.
Context statement The incumbent is required to possess the skills, qualifications, training and experience to be considered for a statutory appointment as an appointed inspector under the legislation administered by Licensing NT.
Key duties and responsibilities Participate in compliance and enforcement programs, in partnership with industry and other agencies.
Respond to stakeholder requests, collate and disseminate relevant information, resolving problems and escalating issues when required.
Maintain sound corporate governance of public records by ensuring accurate documentation.
Actively participate in building relationships, sharing information and promoting cooperation across Licensing NT.
Utilise gambling product performance and activity data to facilitate compliance activities and dispute resolution, information requests, and to comply with law enforcement agency and sport integrity information sharing arrangements.
Selection criteria Essential Demonstrated sound analytical judgment, problem solving, investigative and research skills.
Demonstrated oral communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills, and the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
Extensive experience using database management systems.
Good written communication skills, facilitating concise and thorough reports, briefs and correspondence.
Demonstrated ability to operate as a team member, as well as independently, and to work under pressure, make sound judgements and prioritise workload in a busy environment.
Ability to interpret and apply legislative frameworks, policies and procedures and exercise statutory responsibilities.
Personal integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality, display discretion and tact.
Desirable Comprehensive knowledge of local and national racing and wagering industry issues.
Certificate IV in Government Investigations or equivalent.
Further Information Appointees should be of the highest standard of character and probity.
Successful applicants may be required to undergo a criminal history fingerprint check, the result of which must be satisfactory before appointment can be confirmed.
The successful applicant may be required to work late shifts including undertaking stewarding responsibilities associated with NT greyhound racing.
