Senior Compliance Officers lead complex investigations into non-compliance with the Act, including legal obligations under workplace, taxation, superannuation, migration and health and safety laws.
The Victorian Government established the Labour Hire Authority (LHA) to introduce a licensing system to regulate the provision of labour hire services across Victoria. LHA undertakes a range of licensing, compliance and enforcement activities, maintains public registers and conducts research and education in accordance with the Labour Hire Licensing Act 2018 (Vic) (Act).
The objectives of the scheme are to:

protect vulnerable workers against exploitation by providers of labour hire services and host employers; and
improve transparency and integrity of the labour hire industry.

About the Division
The role sits within LHA's Intelligence, Compliance and Enforcement Division. The division promotes, monitors, investigates and enforces compliance with the LHL Act and a broad range of relevant laws by labour hire licence applicants, licence holders, unlicensed providers and hosts, both proactively and in response to complaints and intelligence that we receive from the public and other regulators.
About the role
Reporting to the Manager, Intelligence, Compliance and Enforcement, Senior Compliance Officers:

lead complex investigations into non-compliance with the Act, including legal obligations under workplace, taxation, superannuation, migration and health and safety laws
gather evidence, draft reports and make sound recommendations in relation to licensing decisions or enforcement action that are consistent with LHA's strategic objectives
lead field inspections
engage with a variety of stakeholders to educate and influence compliance.

About you

Experienced and passionate about leading compliance and enforcement activities, preferably in a government and/or regulator context
Keen to contribute to improving employment conditions of vulnerable workers
Strong ability and passion as a researcher with strong conceptual and analytical skills
Effective communicator and listener, be able to build and maintain good relationships with our stakeholders
