Senior Compliance Adviser
Brisbane
Description
This is an exciting role to perform client servicing and supporting Apex Group in technical needs for client audits and advice.
Job specification
Develop annual internal audit plan for Apex Brisbane Office
Work with business to document and update internal controls
Develop audit reports and present to management and appropriate committees
Act as liaison between external SOC auditor, Client Auditors and Apex Internal Auditor and the relevant Apex Superannuation staff
Ongoing monitoring of topical / high risk areas for inclusion in the internal audit program
Provide detailed briefing to clients on the impact of change to legislation & relevant products.
Investigate and report on breach/errors on behalf of clients.
Conduct reviews to assess clients' adherence to legislative, regulatory, procedural and compliance plan requirements, including general advice provision via phone calls
Undertake document due diligence reviews for clients.
Compliance review training articles and other training materials
Undertake additional assignments upon direction of Head of Compliance Solutions including business development activities
User testing for compliance and training systems
Assist with the maintenance of internal procedures
Skills Required:
Formal qualifications in a relevant field (Business, Finance, Education or other)/Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Financial Services (Superannuation or Financial Planning)
RG146 Qualified
Previous experience working in the Superannuation Industry
Strong understanding of Financial Services Industry, with knowledge of key legislation and regulatory environment
Analytical thinker with ability to comprehend legislative and regulatory requirements and assess practical implications
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills at all organisational levels, including executive management and board levels
