About the Position The city is currently seeking to appoint motivated, engaging,customer focused Senior Community Patrol Officer to join ourCommunity Safety team. Our teamwork with the community to create asafer City by providing a highly visible and responsive servicethat engages with the community.
We achieve this by:
Offering 24 hours 7 days a week service, working week onweek off roster (7:7 days and nights).Conducting community patrols throughout the City's 30unique suburbs.Observing, monitoring, and reporting suspicious behavioursto reduce preventable crime.Providing advice and information on various relevant Acts,Regulations and Local Laws.Investigating complaints and actioning solutions for ourcommunity.Collaborating with WA Police as required, sharing relevantinformation.Key Responsibilities The duties of the Senior Community Patrol Officer will includebut are not limited to:
Supervise a team of Community Patrol Officers to deliver onthe City's strategic objectivesLead the delivery of a visible and responsive CommunityPatrol Service that is engaging within the community,intelligence- driven and proactive to the demands of theevolving customer.Administer and enforce the various relevant Acts,Regulations and Local Laws, where required, and provideexcellent customer service to both external and internalcustomers regarding community safety matters.About You The following qualifications and experience are highly desired,but if you don't tick all the boxes, you could still be aperfect fit for this role. Certificate II in Security OperationsSecurity Officers License issued under the Security andRelated Activities (Control) Act 1996Security industry or related experience, includingexperience with community patrols, alarm response protocol andusing CCTV systems.An understanding of local community safety and securityissues.The ability to confidently engage with the community anddeal with difficult situations to achieve positiveoutcomes.Experience in accurately reporting and capturinginformation in reporting systems.Highly developed written and verbal communication andinterpersonal skills.The ability to think on your feet and problem solve usingprofessional judgement in a lawful and accountable way.Proven professional experience in the security industry anda leadership roleHighly developed leadership skills and an ability tosupervise and coach team membersAbility to confidently assess conflict situations andeffectively resolve complex issuesFor further information, please refer to the positiondescription.
