The Senior Community Engagement Officer guides a small team that proactively uses regulatory levers to support the delivery of culturally appropriate services to First Nations people with disability and people with disability living in remote communities.

Key duties of the role Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Develop and implement compliance strategies for First Nations people with disability and people with disability living in remote areas.
Manage promotion and education campaigns to inform and educate NDIS providers, participants and the public about the NDIS Commissioner's functions and the requirements of relevant legislation and rules.
Guide and advise on the provision of high quality and culturally appropriate compliance operations into disability service providers and workers in remote communities, and their response to issues of safety, well-being and quality of services for people with a disability.
Manage the referral of matters to other agencies or authorities under relevant jurisdictional law.
