The Role Strategic Communications Develop and deliver a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with our organisational goals and values, focusing on advocacy, community engagement, and awareness.
Lead high-impact campaigns to promote initiatives and amplify our voice nationally.
Content Creation Craft compelling content for digital and print channels, including social media, newsletters, press releases, and reports.
Maintain consistency in tone and messaging, ensuring alignment with our brand and mission.
Stakeholder Engagement Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, media outlets, government agencies, and corporate partners.
Ensure culturally responsive, accurate, and engaging communication across all platforms.
Media Relations Manage media inquiries, coordinate interviews, and oversee press coverage to ensure accurate and positive representation of our initiatives.
Internal Communications Develop materials to keep staff informed, engaged, and aligned with organisational priorities, fostering a culturally safe and inclusive workplace.
Event and Campaign Support Collaborate with internal teams to support communications for events, campaigns, and organisational initiatives.
Leverage insights and data to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and drive continuous improvement.
Brand Management Uphold brand consistency across all communications, ensuring alignment with mission and values.
Evaluation and Reporting Monitor and evaluate communication initiatives, using feedback and data-driven insights to refine strategies.
About You Demonstrated experience in a communications role, ideally within the not-for-profit or community sector.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Experience managing social media platforms and creating engaging digital content.
A strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and a commitment to advancing their social and emotional wellbeing.
A collaborative approach with strong time management skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field (desirable).
