About the Role The Communications branch is responsible for CASA's communication activities. This includes broad public and industry consultation and communication strategies, media engagement, website and intranet management, social media, safety promotion, graphic design, video production, sponsorships and event management, and publications.
Key Duties Lead, develop, implement, and evaluate high-impact communication strategies that align with aviation safety priorities and promote behavioural change, leveraging market research, behavioural insights, and innovative communication methods.Create, edit, and publish targeted, high-quality content across all communication channels, including websites and social media, to achieve measurable outcomes.Provide editing and proofreading support for content developed by peers and other business units to ensure clarity and quality.Build and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders and intermediaries to broaden audience reach and strengthen the impact of strategic communication activities.Continuously monitor, assess, and report on the effectiveness of communication strategies and identify improvements to maximise impact.Collaborate closely with colleagues across the branch, as well as technical and subject matter experts in the organisation, to ensure alignment and quality in communication deliverables.Manage budgets and procurement activities in compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.Oversee relationships with external suppliers, including creative, media, and research agencies, to deliver communication strategies effectively.Engage with business stakeholders, including industry experts and client services, to align communications with strategic goals.Possess excellent writing, editing, and oral communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.Demonstrate exceptional time management skills with an ability to adapt and manage multiple tasks with changing and competing priorities.Work independently under broad direction to resolve complex issues, deliver quality outcomes, and provide expert communication advice for effective problem-solving and issue management.Have proven experience leading, implementing, and evaluating communication, marketing, public relations, or behavioural change programs.Demonstrate experience in budget management and procurement processes.Possess a solid understanding of current marketing trends and familiarity with the media landscape.Acquire and maintain knowledge of aviation safety-related issues and developments, including the way we perform our functions, exercise our power, and engage with the aviation community.Minimum Qualifications Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or industry experience in communications, marketing campaigns, and public relations.
