The Opportunity: Join our Marketing and Communications team as a Communications Specialist in Canberra, where you'll play a key role in shaping and delivering impactful communications that support the wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. This is a unique opportunity to manage content across channels and work closely with stakeholders to amplify our organisation's visibility, reputation, and mission.
Key Responsibilities: Strategic Communications: Develop and implement strategic communication initiatives that support the organisation's vision and foster system-wide change.Content Creation: Produce and manage digital and print content across multiple channels, ensuring messaging remains impactful, relevant, and aligned with organisational goals.Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, to ensure communications are culturally responsive, accurate, and engaging.Media Management: Oversee media relations, respond to media inquiries, and manage press coverage to promote positive visibility for our initiatives.Internal Communications: Develop materials that keep staff informed and engaged, cultivating a supportive and culturally inclusive workplace environment.Brand Consistency: Ensure all communications adhere to brand guidelines, aligning with the organisation's mission and values.Event and Impact Support: Support event communications and evaluate campaign effectiveness, leveraging insights to drive continuous improvement.About You: Demonstrated experience in a communications role, ideally within the not-for-profit or community sector.A strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and a commitment to advancing their social and emotional wellbeing.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor content for diverse audiences.Experience in managing social media platforms and creating digital content.A collaborative mindset, able to balance multiple priorities with attention to detail.Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field (desirable).Benefits: Be part of an organisation that positively impacts the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.An opportunity to create meaningful communications that support system-wide change.A collaborative and supportive work environment focused on professional growth.Competitive salary package and benefits.
