Senior Communications Engineer

Permanent/continuing, Full-time appointment. Level 8/9: $107,882 - $133,850 + 17% Superannuation. Information Management & Technology Services (IMTS) is the University central IT provider, responsible for delivering to the campus community a robust infrastructure platform enabling the delivery of services and support in line with strategic and operational requirements. The Senior Communications Engineer (Unified Communications) will join the IMTS Infrastructure, Networks & AV team who are responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing support of the University's communication and AV and services which support the diverse research, teaching and corporate needs of the University.The Senior Communication Engineer will design, manage and maintain a large, distributed communications & AV environment across data centre and campus networks for both Australian and global sites. You will bring with you, a comprehensive knowledge of modern calling and call centre platforms and associated services, sound working knowledge of audio-visual architecture, voice communication and video conferencing. Your technical leadership with be evident as you develop and mentor staff from varying backgrounds and technical ability at both onshore and international campuses. This position requires solid experience in network operations including day to day support, maintenance, monitoring and reporting. The following criteria is an essential component in making this role a success. Familiar with Cisco collaboration platforms Comprehensive knowledge in SIP and an understanding of call routing and telecommunication standards Experience in AV room deployments Understanding and troubleshooting of TCP/IP and network protocols Your goal is to execute communication and AV related projects which support business needs and adapt to the future needs of the institution. You will have exceptional communication and problem-solving skills as you ensure change and deliverables are achieved. This position may be required to work outside of standard business hours. The position holder will be required to respond to out of hours critical incidents and urgent matters, facilitated via an on-call roster arrangement and hold an Australian Drivers Licence.
