The purpose of the Senior Communications Advisor is to coordinate with regional communication staff in a variety of internal and external communication activities, with a focus on using risk assessment and judgment to evaluate and inform the communications approach and processes appropriately, particularly for infrastructure projects.
You will be required to work with stakeholders using your skills in writing, researching, and content development across a wide variety of communication channels.
Some of Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Liaise with and develop strong, positive relationships with a range of stakeholders including ministerial and departmental staff, representatives of government, community and non-government organizations, as well as key staff across Transport and Main Roads.Develop and implement communication strategies for high-risk infrastructure projects, including researching and writing communication materials such as media releases, correspondence, briefings, newsletters, display materials, and speech notes for projects.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the region's projects and activities to proactively identify trends and risks in communication issues that may affect the region.Initiate and build effective relationships and networks with internal and external key stakeholders including other government agencies, professional associations, industry stakeholders, community, and internal and external clients.Provide strategic communication advice, recommendations, and options on issues management and executive correspondence to improve relationships with key stakeholders and the community.Applications will remain current for 12 months.
