This role will ensure safe and quality delivery of all commissioning related activities of large-scale complex infrastructure projects/Portfolio to the approved scope considering time and cost metrics while meeting the safety, customer and community, environmental and construction standards, and expectations.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to assist with growing the business portfolio and be part of the force that will shape our industry's transition to a renewables future. With a 3/2 Hybrid split Office/WFH, this role can be based in Melbourne CBD and is part of the Development & Future Networks team.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
Support lead commissioning engineer in providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians. Overseeing commissioning processes for HV electrical terminal/substation systems, ensuring project compliance with design, AusNet standards and industry best practice. Provide technical guidance and support to commissioning teams. Review of secondary system designs for accuracy and contribute for further improvements. Coordinate with project teams, including designers, contractors, engineers, technicians, and other external stakeholders to support the seamless flow of commissioning activities. Development of commissioning overviews for large scale power infrastructure projects for systems up to 500kV. Collaborate with construction delivery partners (CDP's) and design partners to resolve on site commissioning issues. You don't need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
10 years of proven experience in hands-on commissioning of high-risk electrical infrastructure. In-depth knowledge on meeting Project Control requirements and Project Functional Requirements. Safety Leadership. People leadership on managing a commissioning engineering team. In-depth knowledge on AEMO project commissioning compliance. Strong coordination with all stakeholders to achieve project goals. Strong Communication, stakeholder, and client liaison. Proven experience and in-depth knowledge of AusNet network requirements and commissioning processes.
