The Senior Commercial Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering commercial, contractual, and financial expertise across VicGrid's projects and programs.
Key responsibilities include offering strategic advice on complex commercial and contractual matters, leading in the development and initiation of contracts, managing procurement processes, overseeing tender evaluations and negotiations, and mitigating risks and issues.
The role also involves developing and maintaining robust procurement and contract management systems to support projects at various stages of their lifecycle.
What you will deliver You will provide active leadership and guidance to direct reports responsible for the delivery on commercial, procurement and contract management matters, ensuring consistency and best practice across VicGrid's program of work.You will initiate, negotiate and/or resolve commercial issues with stakeholders as they arise and prepare detailed analysis and advice on complex commercial matters and politically sensitive issues for senior level decision-making.You will lead and manage the preparation of tender documentation, tender evaluation, contract negotiation and award of construction contracts and other significant procurement packages.You will oversee the management of commercial and project agreements and monitor project cost and schedule performance to ensure timelines are met.What you will bring Extensive demonstrable experience in contract management of complex project agreements ideally in respect of energy infrastructure projects and/or an Alliance framework.Applied knowledge and experience in preparing complex tender documents, evaluating tender proposals, negotiating contract terms and conditions and awarding major construction contracts and other complex procurement packages.An appropriate tertiary qualification in law, commerce, economics, business, management, or relevant experience.If you think you have transferable skills, an appetite to learn, and an ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, we'd love to hear from you.
