The ProjectCPB Contractors along with our industry partners has been selected to deliver two major packages for the Cross River Rail Projects: the Tunnel, Stations and Development (TSD) package and the Rail, Integration and Systems (RIS) package.
Cross River Rail is a new 10.2 kilometre rail line from Dutton Park to Bowen Hills, which includes 5.9 kilometres of tunnel under the Brisbane River and the CBD.
The RIS package is crucial to the overall delivery and success of Cross River Rail, and its integration with the Queensland Rail network.
RIS will be delivered by the UNITY Alliance which brings CPB Contractors, UGL, AECOM and Jacobs together with partners HASSEL, RCS Australia, Acemna, Martinus Rail and WIRED Overhead Solutions to deliver the full scope of works over the next five years.
This includes:
Rail civil and electrical worksBrownfield rail surface works primarily to the north of the tunnel, including an upgrade of Exhibition Station and a major augmentation of Mayne YardUpgrade of six suburban stations to the southRail operational systems worksRail signalling works and communication, and integration and commission activitiesYour OpportunityReporting to the Commercial Director we are currently seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to deliver the best possible financial outcome on the Alliance.
Responsibilities will include:
Leading and managing the commercial team (Procurement, Contract Administration and Finance)Preparation of tender packages, Requests for Quotation, tender evaluations and Recommendations for ApprovalNegotiation and preparation of contracts for awardEvaluation of variation claims and issuing assessments for review and approval by managementPreparation of month end financial reportsProject Alliance Agreement contract management, compliance, notices, adjustment events, progress claimsManagement of subcontractor payment claimsPreparation and issuance of contract correspondence to ContractorsConduct risk and opportunity assessments for project wide management reportingManagement of earned value analysis of various work packagesImplementing effective cost control processes and practicesManagement of contract disputesManaging compliance and preparing reports on commercial performance of the projectOur minimum requirements for this role are:Experience in team management, and working within a large on-site construction teamAt least 15 years relevant industry experienceStrong commercial acumen with the ability to work to tight deadlinesExperience in the procurement and management of subcontract packages for large-scale projectsExperience in cost planning and forecast planningExcellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skillsEffective contract negotiation skills and ability to assess and resolve large complex claims and variations through to completionUnderstanding of relevant legislation and ability to interpret and apply contractsRelevant tertiary qualifications or proven commercial experienceDemonstrated experience in effectively managing large subcontract packagesCPB Contractors is an equal opportunity employer, committed to workplace diversity and to providing career opportunities at our offices and projects.
