Purpose of Position:Manages the commercial relationship of a contract, by overseeing the entire contract lifecycle from negotiation to execution and compliance. This will involve collaboration with internal (finance, legal) and external teams (customers).
Responsible for ensuring robust management and performance of high value contracts around the legal, commercial and financial aspect and ensure they are aligned and compliant with internal and external regulatory requirements.
Delivering commercial expertise to support customers and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with contract requirements and expectations. Manage our high value commercial contract on day-to-day basis, with potential to work on other contracts autonomously.
Liaise with customers to make sure financial management of the contract payments, milestone completion and signoffs are processed on time and within the guidelines.
Relationship management and account management around the contract ensuring continued engagement with the customer. Negotiation of amendment, variations and point of contact for all escalations.
Duties and Responsibilities:Manages commercial relationships, ensures contract terms are met and mitigates risksContract administrative controls and monitoring requirementsInternal and external assurance and governance requirements in support of extensions, variations and novation of contractsRegulatory requirements associated with managing contracts, to ensure compliance with legislationContractual issues, negotiations and escalationsAudits of supplier obligations to ensure they're being carried out in accordance with contractual requirementsInvoice and billing of high-profile contractsMaintain and drive compliance with the relevant project level governanceMonitor performance of work under contract at all levels in line with contracted Key Performance IndicatorsKnowledge and Experience - Required:Previous contract commercial management experience related to the types of activities identified in the 'Main Responsibilities' section, in either public or private sector environmentsPrevious experience of successfully dealing with high value, technical, challenging contracts with evidence of being able to prioritise competing demands without losing focus on deliverySolution outcomes focused and customer drivenStrong commercial acumen and contract negotiation skillsAbility to understand legal frameworks of supplier contractsExcellent oral and written communication skillsEvidence of building a strong rapport and relationships at all levels with customers and stakeholdersExperience of collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver results for customersCan work autonomously with minimal supervision and drive process and deliverables against contractual requirementsFinance Team Collaboration: Financial Analysis: Work with finance experts to analyze the financial implications of contracts, ensuring alignment with budget and financial goals.Cost Management: Collaborate on budgeting and cost management to ensure financial performance meets organizational standards.Performance Monitoring: Partner with finance to monitor and report on the financial performance of contracts, addressing any discrepancies promptly.Legal Team Collaboration: Contract Drafting and Review: Collaborate with legal experts to draft, review, and finalize contract clauses, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.Legal Compliance: Ensure all contracts adhere to legal requirements, seeking legal advice as necessary to mitigate legal risks.Dispute Resolution: Work with legal to handle any disputes or issues that arise during the contract lifecycle, ensuring a fair and timely resolution.Travel:Minimal Travel required for this position
