The role We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Commercial Accountant to join our Commercial Finance team located in Sydney on a full time basis.
The Finance team The Finance team is a professional, motivated and focused team delivering sound financial advice and a flexible and practical financial and administration service to legal practice areas of the firm.
Key responsibilities This collaborative and dynamic role will encompass: Preparation and review of monthly management reports including profit & loss accounts Budget and forecast preparation PowerPoint presentations Analysis of key performance indicators Business partnering with senior stakeholders Preparation of financial documents including commentary to support business promotions Value-add projects You will be expected to engage with Partners and Senior Managers on financial issues, requiring well-honed business acumen and an ability to communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
Skills & Experience To be successful in this role, you will be a results-focused team player, with high integrity, a broad skill set, accounting knowledge and a desire to learn and diversify.
We are looking for a detail-oriented, focused and driven individual.
Further skills and experience: 5+ years' relevant work experience.
Experience in a professional services environment is desirable but no essential.
Experience in preparing and delivering annual budgets/forecasts The ability to provide insightful commentary and analysis based on financial reports and data Advanced Excel skills (including ability to use advanced functions such as pivot tables, vlookup's, graphs/charts, etc.)
as well as proficiency in other Microsoft applications Experienced user of Business Intelligence tools, IBM Cognos TM1 Degree qualified with CPA/CA qualification.
