About the team The Beaches team is part of the Community Facilities and Open Space Asset Planning and Management business unit in the City of Gold Coast's Infrastructure Lifecycle, Planning and Performance department. The team's focus is on managing coastal hazards and providing clean, healthy and accessible beaches for the community.

About your new role The Senior Coastal Engineer is responsible for coastal engineering services and project management associated with the City of Gold Coast's capital and operational investment programs for the ocean beaches including seawalls, groynes and (natural/artificial) reefs, revetment walls, dune and riparian zones, dredging and nourishment.

We're looking for people who have: A Bachelor Degree in Civil/Coastal/Environmental Engineering (mandatory) or equivalent knowledge. Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) status or commitment to achieve RPEQ (highly desirable). Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills ensuring consistency and clarity of advice. Highly developed analytical, problem solving and investigative skills to provide sound advice and options and recommendations, to influence project outcomes. High level of interpersonal skills, including effective communication skills. Ability to function autonomously, as well as part of a high performing team.
