This theoretical framework forms the basis for all aspects of care and intervention provided by the Foundation's therapeutic services, when supporting the needs of children, young people, their families and/or carers.About the Role:As part of the Foundation's commitment to providing trauma-sensitive and culturally appropriate services to children and families, the Australian Childhood Foundation is seeking a Senior Clinician to join their team in Alice Springs and surrounding areas. This role will work alongside other Senior Clinicians/Counsellors to expand the organisation's counselling and therapeutic services for children and young people.By utilising trauma-informed approaches, the Senior Clinician will play a crucial role in supporting the well-being of vulnerable individuals and families in the community. This is an exciting and diverse role which includes intake and triage, conducting assessments, providing counselling to children and young people, providing support to parents and carers, and facilitating parenting groups.About You - Key Selection Criteria:An appropriate tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline.Eligibility for membership of the relevant professional association.Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and direct service in the clinical assessment and treatment of children, young people and families.Highly developed ability to provide secondary consultation and advice to clinicians and other professionals.Demonstrated capacity to lead and manage in an area of challenging and complex practice.Demonstrated knowledge of trauma, attachment and neurobiology frameworks and theories.Substantial experience in the area of child abuse and/or in working with children impacted by trauma.Demonstrated understanding of and ability to work effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively and the capacity to negotiate and liaise with carers, Territory Families Housing and Communities, other agencies and the community.A sophisticated understanding of the complexity of the service system and the issues involved in providing services to statutory clients.A current Australian driver's license or equivalent.A current Working with Children Check (Ochre Card).Remuneration & Benefits:The salary is determined on the basis of the employee's experience and qualifications.
