Senior Climate Adaptation Officer

We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Climate Adaptation Officer to join our Environmental Sustainability team.
This role leads the Department of Education's work to adapt and build resilience to climate change.
This is a full-time position, but applications for part-time or job-share arrangements will also be considered.
About the role The Senior Climate Adaptation Officer will:
Coordinate the development, delivery, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of five-yearly Education and Training Climate Change Adaptation Action Plans.Work closely with corporate staff across the department to develop and deliver evidence-based policies, strategies and actions to adapt and build resilience to climate change, and manage climate-related risks.Provide technical expertise in climate adaptation and build the capacity of staff to embed sustainability in their work.Coordinate with other government departments, external consultants and researchers to share skills, deliver partnership projects and support the department to meet its obligations to consider climate change in decision-making.About you As our ideal candidate, you will:
Have professional experience in developing and delivering policies, programs and projects related to climate adaptation.Enjoy collaborating with others and have excellent stakeholder and interpersonal skills.Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.Proactively analyse complex problems and seek creative and evidence-based solutions.How to apply Submit an application before the closing date that includes:
