QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government. It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations, and correctional and health facilities.
About the role You will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by providing high-quality services and strategic leadership that ensure the successful delivery of projects and programs. You will be responsible for fostering client partnerships, streamlining operations, and guiding your team of Estimators and Supervisors to meet QBuild's objectives, while actively contributing to the growth and resilience of Queensland's building and construction industry.
Duties and skills involved: Significantly contribute to the development of a customer-facing team that maintains accountability for establishment, quality and satisfaction for all QBuild customers as it relates to all services provided and delivered across Far North Queensland.Contribute to the development and implementation of a methodology for capturing and delivering customer requirements with a focus on customer satisfaction, value for money outcomes and effective resource management of all customer-facing staff and contractors.Develop and implement efficient processes and capabilities that allow the region to successfully communicate and partner with customers to plan their work requirements across financial years so that QBuild can deliver the best value for money on all relevant building construction and maintenance activity.Continuous integration and customer relationship management with clients on all matters relating to customer programs, planning, procurement, risk management and reporting.Establish and maintain effective senior management relationships with current and potential clients and other stakeholders to support improvement in QBuild program management and value to Government, the Department, clients, workforce, suppliers, industry, and community.Contribute to the development, implementation and review of the business unit's operational plan, fee levels, performance indicators and actual services and service levels ensuring they closely align with the clients' requirements.In partnership with the Far North Queensland Regional Delivery Managers, ensure constant communication mechanisms are effectively implemented across all programs and projects.Participate in negotiations with consultants, local authorities, clients, and contractors to ensure value for money solutions are identified and delivered. Utilise experience and professional knowledge to add value to discussions and ensure appropriate stakeholder management is undertaken.Perform the role of Regional Disaster Coordinator.Proactively manage the work performance and personal conduct of your staff.Preferred skills and experience/Additional requirements: Proven ability in program management.Demonstrated understanding of how business outcomes can be achieved through strategic management.Success in client relationship management will be highly regarded.All applicants must be eligible to work in Australia.
