We value diversity, equality, and inclusion and promote a culture that supports professional and personal growth.Your RoleOur Gen Re Australia Claims Team is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Senior Claims Specialist to work in our Sydney office. This role will report to the Claims Manager and work closely with the wider Segment Claims Team.As a Senior Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering assessments of individual claims within defined authority, across all lines of Life Insurance products, to your clients. This role will give you the opportunity to showcase your skills and experience while working with a diverse range of insurers across Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific.Your Key ResponsibilitiesAssess the medical, occupational, functional, and financial factors of the claims we receive while applying the Gen Re claims' philosophy, treaty terms, and policy knowledge to your assessments.Determine eligibility, investigate non-disclosure, and request and assess retrospective underwriting opinions.Conduct investigations and determine strategy and management plans for each claim.Manage relationship and portfolio strategies.Adhere to LICOP and industry relevant legislation.Participate and lead quality assurance reviews and audits.Participate in product and treaty reviews, tender preparation and pitches, and the development of new products and business solutions.Research and monitor current and developing trends that will impact the Life & Health Insurance industry.Contribute effectively to segment and global initiatives and projects.Active participation in internal and external claims forums to discuss complex claims.Identify and develop best practice claims management initiatives for the benefit of Gen Re's clients.Participate in Gen Re's seminars and industry events.Minimum RequirementsStrong technical knowledge of Life Products and claims handling practices.Strategic understanding of proactive claims risk management processes.Sound knowledge of LICOP and industry relevant legislation.Clear and effective communication both written and verbal.Demonstrated experience communicating and consulting with stakeholders of various levels of seniority.We offer a range of benefits, including:Novated leasing, additional carers leave, and support for your professional development.A highly professional and inclusive working environment that values excellence, integrity, personal responsibility, and diversity.Performance-based remuneration package commensurate with experience and qualifications.A flat management hierarchy and team-based environment that promotes collaboration and free-flowing communication.Support for your personal and professional development.Does this sound exciting?If you want to shape your future with us, we look forward to receiving your application via our website Gen Re.General Reinsurance Life Australia Ltd.Level 201 O'Connell StreetSydney, NSW 2000 (Australia) ABN 73 002 166 869
