Senior Claims Officer - Marine Claims

The opportunity
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Claims Officer to join our Marine Claims team on a permanent basis.
As a Senior Claims Officer you will play an integral part of our Speciality Claims business by taking pride in delivering an exceptional customer experience at every touchpoint.
You are self-motivated, with a keen attention to detail, capable of maintaining high standards during times of change and resilient when facing challenges.
Your new role
The role will see you proactively managing a portfolio of technical Marine claims, ensuring that quality customer service is provided.
You will handle Marine claim classes such as Cargo, Commercial Hull, Direct Pleasurecraft, Marine Liability along with duties and responsibilities as required in support of the wider Marine and Leadership team.
You will also:
Support coaching and development of claims officers in the marine claims team from a technical perspective.
Interact professionally with insured claimants, legal representatives, and brokers, ensuring high-quality customer service and strong relationships.
Ensure compliance with statutory and service standards, including privacy guidelines.
Manage claims proactively from notification to resolution, utilizing appropriate specialists for efficient settlement outcomes.
Accurately determine and communicate indemnity decisions in a timely manner, following company policies, industry standards, and legislation.
Properly document claims management and outcomes and negotiate settlements effectively.
Focus on continuous improvement, developing technical expertise, and participating in professional development and training.
About you:
Extensive experience in marine claims handling with strong technical and policy interpretation skills.
Proven ability to manage a diversified portfolio, including working with loss adjusters, solicitors, and expert consultants.
Understanding and application of the General Insurance Code of Practice.
Proficient in PC literacy, word processing, and spreadsheet applications, with excellent communication and time management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, maintaining a professional approach to claims handling.
