We are seeking a highly skilled Track & Civil Design Engineer to lead design activities related to the development of Track & Civil engineering projects.
This role involves ensuring that all designs meet regulatory requirements and adhere to industry standards.
Key Responsibilities Design Delivery: Lead the development of Track & Civil design outputs, including drawings, reports, and calculations, ensuring compliance with project specifications.Design Approval: Review and approve Track & Civil designs as an authorised Sign Off Coordinator (SOC).Standards Application: Utilise infrastructure and engineering standards to prepare accurate and compliant designs.Non-Conformance Resolution: Identify design non-conformances and provide recommendations for waivers to the Design Review Manager.Specification Preparation: Assist in creating design specifications and gathering necessary design inputs, such as site surveys.Technical Advice: Provide expert technical guidance on projects to colleagues and external stakeholders as required.Safety Compliance: Uphold all legislative and regulatory requirements, participating in Safety in Design and risk assessments.Change Management: Support the preparation of Management of Change and Engineering Change Processes.Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the enhancement of internal systems and processes, maximising the value of the technical knowledge base.Mentorship: Mentor and develop junior Track & Civil Design Engineers, fostering a collaborative team environment.Line Management: Manage staff as delegated by the Design Production Manager.Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Design Production Manager.Organisational Responsibilities Strategic Support: Align with the organization's strategic direction, focusing on safety and customer satisfaction.Cultural Contribution: Promote a culture of Zero Harm, inclusivity, and respect within the team.Relationship Building: Establish positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders to achieve business objectives.Compliance and Stewardship: Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and reporting requirements, addressing any compliance concerns.Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Mandatory: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.Strong deductive reasoning and critical thinking skills.Experience in fault finding on complex electro-mechanical systems.Risk identification and corrective action capabilities.Negotiation skills for key outcomes.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with strong technical writing skills.Knowledge of occupational health, safety, and environmental procedures in the rail industry.Preferred: Experience in railway infrastructure (Track & Civil) design or relevant civil infrastructure design experience.Familiarity with design software and drafting tools, particularly Bentley Microstation.Understanding of OHS, Safety in Design, and environmental requirements.If you are passionate about engineering and committed to safety and excellence in design, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful projects in the rail industry.
