About the Role:We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead building projects within Dandenong.
This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful council projects, managing all phases of project delivery from design through to handover.
Main Responsibilities:Project Management:Oversee all project stages, including design, permits, procurement, construction, and final handover.Provide expert advice on project briefs, agreements, budget bids, and feasibility studies.Liaise with clients, users, and maintenance staff to define project requirements and ensure they are incorporated.Prepare risk and issue management plans, and monitor their implementation.Manage project resources and timelines, ensuring quality and adherence to budget.Supervise consultants and contractors, ensuring project compliance and effective communication.Report on project status internally and externally, maintaining confidentiality and sensitivity.Leadership:Promote professionalism, ethical standards, and integrity within the Directorate.Provide clear direction and foster open communication within project teams.Lead daily project management, offering feedback to consultants and contractors.Ensure adherence to OH&S and risk management standards for a safe work environment.Contract Management:Recommend procurement methods and assist in preparing and evaluating tenders.Oversee contract implementation, ensuring compliance and value for money.Manage contract variations and ensure all project requirements are met.Financial Management:Prepare and monitor project budgets, ensuring financial resources are utilized effectively.Comply with council financial and auditing requirements.Maintain accurate records and provide regular financial reports to the Coordinator and Council.To Be Successful:Experience: Proven track record in managing building projects valued at over $10M.Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualification in project management.Certifications:White CardVictorian Car Driving LicenceWorking with Children Check (current)National Police Check (current)Skills:Strong time management and prioritization skills.Business acumen and understanding of budgeting and financial procedures.High-level interpersonal skills, including effective communication and customer service.Knowledge of construction techniques and relevant legislation.Proven success in delivering major projects from design to handover.Additional Requirements: Must reside in Australia and have full work rights.
