We have established strong partnerships with Australia's leading transmission network providers, suppliers of wind, gas, and diesel generation equipment, as well as prominent mining companies.Role:RJE Global is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Project Engineer to join the projects management team, specifically a BESS project in regional South Australia, where we require significant bulk earthworks to be completed.As a Senior Civil Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of project sectors, from inception to completion.
Your role will involve managing the project civil team and subcontractors, technical review of project design, identifying and providing feedback on constructability and constraints, ensuring adherence to project schedules and quality standards, as well as maintaining effective communication with key stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
This is a senior-level site position that requires exceptional leadership, project management, and technical expertise.
You will play a crucial role in driving the successful delivery of projects while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and profitability.The role is considered site-based on an ongoing roster.Responsibilities:Lead and manage the end-to-end execution of construction projects, including planning, design review, procurement, construction, and closeout phases.Support the Project Managers in the development and implementation of project plans, budgets, and schedules, ensuring alignment with client requirements, contractual obligations, and regulatory standards.Review technical design drawings and documents and provide feedback on constructability and constraints.Provide strategic guidance and direction to project teams, ensuring effective coordination, collaboration, and communication among all stakeholders.Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.Assess construction activities, quality control, and adherence to safety protocols.Oversee the selection and management of subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors, ensuring compliance with company policies and project specifications.Monitor and control project budgets, expenditures, and financial performance, identifying cost-saving opportunities and addressing any financial issues.Regularly review and report the project status, schedule deviations, and quality assurance.Ongoing quality assurance review and development to ensure compliance with the company's Quality Management System and accreditations.
Witness and review quality checks and documentation.Foster positive relationships with clients, consultants, and other external stakeholders, ensuring client satisfaction and identifying opportunities for future collaborations.Mentor and provide guidance to junior project engineering staff, promoting professional growth and development within the organization.Required:Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.Demonstrated experience (minimum 3 years) in managing large-scale bulk earthworks and/or road construction projects, preferably within Australia.Construction White Card.Driver's License.Strong knowledge of Australian construction regulations, codes, and industry standards.Strong understanding of civil construction quality control requirements.Proficiency in engineering software and tools, e.g., AutoCAD.Proficiency in Microsoft suite of applications.Excellent leadership abilities, with the capacity to effectively lead and motivate project teams.Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and provide practical solutions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.Willingness to travel to project sites across Australia as required.Solid understanding of the construction process and life-cycle.Advantageous:A postgraduate degree in Construction or Project Management.Understanding and administering commercial and contract documents.Australian Citizen or hold permanent Residency status in Australia.Previous experience in the construction industry.Ability to read and interpret drawings.Based in Adelaide is preferable.If you are ready to take the next step in your Engineering career with RJE Global, we encourage you to apply.Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
