Full time maximum term position up to 12 months (part time considered) Salary based on experience, range: $98,902 - $123,624 (pro rata) plus super Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model About the role: This position will support the implementation and delivery of services to people in regional Victoria impacted by the October 2022 floods. This role focusses on providing support and coordination to regional civil justice lawyers who are assisting individuals affected by the 2022 floods. Key areas of focus include civil legal matters such as tenancy, social security, insurance law, infringements, NDIS, and credit and debt issues. Working closely with regional offices, Disaster Legal Help Victoria, and ESR management, the individual in this role will offer legal support and mentorship to regional civil justice lawyers, including assistance with complex advice and casework. They will also be responsible for engaging with stakeholders, as well as overseeing and participating in projects related to education and training resources for regional civil justice staff. This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office and to be flexible to travel to Bendigo, Shepparton, Mildura, Horsham, Ballarat VLA offices. About you: As our ideal candidate, you will possess: The ability to provide guidance and support to build the capacity of regional civil lawyers Capacity to work as a lawyer in complex matters including substantial knowledge or practical experience in the law and relevant court procedures with a focus on NDIS, social security, fines, tenancy, credit and debt, and insurance. Experience in building and sustaining partnerships and collaborative relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. Capacity to identify systemic issues and contribute to systemic changes to laws, policies and practices. A current Australian practising certificate which entitles you to practise in Victoria as a government legal practitioner of a law practice (mandatory).
