Our established Engineering Service Line has developed a strong reputation for technical excellence, providing high-quality tailored services and specialist, responsive engineering, environmental, and scientific advice to a range of clients across diverse market sectors.Due to our growing pipeline of interesting and challenging projects, we are looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to join our Northern Queensland team based in our well-established multidisciplinary Mackay Office. We will also consider candidates with Environmental or Mechanical Engineering degrees, as well as those looking to work from our Townsville or Cairns offices.In this role, you will have the opportunity to support and collaborate on a range of projects with other Technical Disciplines, including (but not limited to) Geotechnics, Transport Advisory, Planning and Approvals, Hydrology & Hydrogeology, and Environmental Specialist Services, providing sustainable solutions for our national and international projects.The role offers the lifestyle opportunity of joining a friendly and dynamic team locally while being part of an 850+ community of SLR professionals across APAC, and enjoying the benefits of having access to our global network.Key ResponsibilitiesThis role offers excellent long-term rewards and opportunities for learning, expanding technical knowledge, and career advancement, including:Working on a wide range of projects at the technical advisory level, across the Infrastructure, Built Environment Sectors, Manufacturing & Industry, Mining and Resources, Power & Energy, and Water Sectors.Undertaking a range of technical tasks, including:Lead Design and Documentation of Civil Infrastructure, with a focus on Water and Wastewater InfrastructureProgram and Schedule DevelopmentTender ManagementContractor Management and SupervisionConstruction Management and SupervisionInvestigative reporting and recommendationsLearning from a diverse range of technical expertsBuilding the confidence to challenge the norm with the objective of continuous improvementBuilding autonomy as a leader in the business, developing independent internal and external client relationships and developing your own project portfolio.ExperienceOutside wanting to join a positive and friendly team, the right candidate should have:6+ years' experience with tertiary engineering qualifications in civil, environmental, or mechanical engineering as well as experience related to water and wastewater infrastructure.RPEQ accreditation is highly desirableExperience in the management and delivery of multi-disciplinary projectsExcellent written and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to build relationshipsCompetency in engineering design, including the development of design solutions for water and wastewater infrastructure across various industries including local government, state government, and private industry clients.An excellent attitude and be capable of working within a dynamic environmentHave a clear understanding and articulation of your skills and awareness of the direction you want to take with career progression.
