About the job Van der Meer Consulting is a Structural and Civil Consulting Engineering group with offices in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra. This rapidly expanding company is currently seeking a suitably qualified Senior Civil Engineer/ Civil Engineer for our Brisbane office.
Education and Experience: The successful candidate will have the following:
Minimum Bachelor of Engineering in Civil RPEQ or actively pursuing RPEQ (with CPD) in order to obtain RPEQ status Minimum 3 years to 10 years plus civil engineering experience gained within a consultancy environment preferred. Demonstrated experience in the design of relevant projects including (desirable): Road & Drainage Design, Sewer and Water Design, Bulk Earthwork Design, Stormwater & Flood Analysis, Client liaison and project control. Skills and Personal Attributes: Sound knowledge and application of Australian Standard design codes, relevant design techniques and construction procedures and techniques. Be keen to learn new and innovative design techniques. Experience in the use of software such as Autocad, Drainage software, Music and Microsoft Office. Experience with Civil 3D and/ or 12D design software is desirable. Problem-solving and decision-making skills Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate and work with other engineers, architects and design managers. Be enthusiastic and committed to facilitating client needs. Be willing to mentor junior Civil Engineers Must demonstrate initiative and be a team player.
