About the Role: The Senior Cathodic Protection Engineer is responsible for providing engineering and technical services to support the safety, reliability, integrity, and long-term value of Jemena's Class that supports Jemena's commercial and operational objective.
Responsibilities include: Creating Opportunity Briefs related to Cathodic Protection and CorrosionDesign and Project Support for Cathodic Protection including scoping for new CP systems, review of CP design, responding to technical queries, and supporting CP system commissioning.Performance Monitoring of CP systems, including review of pipe to soil potential survey data, corrosion coupon reads, CP unit and ground bed checks ensuring compliance to AS 2832.1Operational Engineering Support for Cathodic Protection related items, including scoping and assisting with investigations, making recommendations, and implementing recommendations. Supporting minor site investigations as required and/or supporting CP Contractor with major site investigations.Performance Non-Conformance investigation and reporting for Cathodic Protection related itemsCarry out or assist with CP surveys, including pipe to soil potential survey, CIPS, and DCVGAsset Integrity Monitoring and Condition Assessment for External and Internal CorrosionRepresent Jemena in various Electrolysis CommitteesLiaise with field technicians for providing direction and troubleshooting to resolve CP related issuesAbout You: Extensive experience in CP monitoring, design, and installation including experience in systems affected by A.C. interference, stray traction current effects, and telluric effects on onshore oil and gas pipelinesNACE accredited CP Technologist or higherKnowledge or experience in Australian energy utilities/services provider and contractor marketTrack record of delivering Engineering and technical functions including policy, standards development, regulatory compliance, and risk managementStrong knowledge of discipline design standards including AS 2832.1, specifications, code, and appropriate safety working knowledge of AS 2885 preferred.Electrical licence (including Restricted licence) preferredUnderstanding of corrosion mechanisms, including SCC and internal and external MIC preferredWorking knowledge of various pipeline coating types and their limitationsPlease Note: For this role you will need to have a clean driving license.
