We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Cooks (Senior Catering Attendant) to join our busy catering unit at Melbourne Airport on a full-time basis.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in catering or food production in a fast paced environment working with a high attention to detail.
The successful candidate will be responsible for: Food meal plating, tray set and packing of food cartsEnsure that presentation / weight specifications are adhered toStrictly follow menu specifications and comply with Food Safety / HACCP guidelinesEnsure that cleaning schedules are followed and adhered to, maintaining a high standard of hygiene at all timesCommunicate with all stakeholders to ensure that time lines are metUnderstand and comply with internal policies and proceduresMove and lift items manuallyAssist with and/or perform raw material preparation and cookingPerform tasks such as baking, grilling, oven and stove-top cookingSkilled use of knives and machineryProficient in all airline equipment requirements, stowage and food presentationsWhat do you need to be successful in securing this role? Demonstrated experience of working in a food environmentBasic knife skillsFine motor skillsKnowledge of HACCP / QSAI / Food Safety and OHSPrior experience with airline catering (highly regarded) and service orientedAbility to work autonomously as well as part of a teamPrior experience in a HALAL working environment and knowledge regarding segregation and separation of equipment highly regardedStrong communication skillsAbility to work across a 7-day rotating rosterAs you will be working in the Aviation Services industry, you will be required to obtain a clear National Police Check.What's in it for you?
