Join an organisation that truly makes a difference.Blend your calling, experience and wisdom into this vocational role.Make a difference in the lives of young people.Senior Case Worker Churches of Christ, Children, Youth & Families, Hervey Bay Permanent, Full Time Highlighting the importance of this role for our team: Reporting to our Team Leader, you will utilise previous skills and demonstrated experience in the provision of care services to children, young people and their families, to: Plan and facilitate educational/therapeutic programs that meet the needs of children, young people, families and foster carers;Provide direct in-home support services to clients, including the provision of after-hours and 'on-call' services on a rotational basis or as required;Action referrals, use standardised assessment and provide direct counselling and support to children, young people, families and foster carers to improve child health and wellbeing;Provide high level advice and guidance to staff regarding complex case matters;Organise, plan and deliver training, mentoring and upskilling to staff to enhance procedural and practical skills.What you can bring to the team: With an empathetic nature you are compassionate toward vulnerable individuals. You are approachable, and a good problem solver who can think quickly on your feet to make sound decisions. Excellent interpersonal skills are part of your skill set enabling you to build rapport with internal and external people and stakeholders easily. To be suitable for this position, your qualifications for the role will consist of: Degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences or a related discipline;Applied knowledge and understanding of child protection and out-of-home care frameworks;Minimum three years' in the provision of care services to children, young people and their families in statutory care;Demonstrated experience in providing training to adults, undertaking fostering assessments, and providing a range of supports, including behaviour management and stress management strategies;Demonstrated ability to provide coaching and mentoring to service staff.Importantly, you will be someone who closely aligns with our organisational values of: Unconditional Love, Continual Innovation, Mutual Trust, Wise Stewardship and Safety.
