Queensland Corrective Services (Organisation site)High Risk Offender Management Unit; Community Corrections; Community Corrections & Specialist Operations; RockhamptonThe High Risk Offender Management Unit (HROMU) team based in the Brisbane and Townsville regions is responsible for the supervision of offenders subject to a supervision order pursuant to the Dangerous Prisoners (Sexual Offenders) Act 2003 (DPSOA) residing throughout Queensland and the electronic monitoring of offenders on parole.
It comprises of the following work groups:HROMU Strategic Risk and Support, including the Clinical Support Unit;HROMU Operations SEQ;HROMU Central to Far Northern;The Electronic Monitoring and Surveillance Unit (EMSU), responsible for the Statewide GPS monitoring of DPSOA offenders and offenders subject to Parole Supervision.The essential requirements for this role are:Able to demonstrate experience working within a legislative framework that underpins a core service delivery area.Able to work self-sufficiently and be confident in your own professional discretion, reasoning, judgement and decision making skills prior to seeking management validation.Able to demonstrate previous experiences of fostering a new relationship and receiving positive reinforcement in return to demonstrate the relationship was well developed.Communicate professionally and engage with respect with colleagues, offenders, management and stakeholders.
Experience in working collaboratively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.Ability to embrace diversity and maximise the whole range of skills and differences available within the workforce.Qualifications, professional registration, conditions and other requirementsPossession of a degree relevant for the human services or criminology fields such as Law, Justice, Humanities, Psychology, Social Sciences, Social Welfare, Health, Education, Business and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies.The incumbent will be required to undertake professional development and training relevant to the role as required and as deemed appropriate for the location of the advertised vacancy.Individuals employed on a permanent or temporary basis will be required to complete Certificate IV in Correctional Practice (Community).
