At Anglicare, our core mission is to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty for children, young people, and families. We focus on serving vulnerable communities across the ACT and regional and rural NSW and aim to create lasting positive change. About the opportunity

Anglicare seeks a dedicated Senior Carer Practitioner to join our team. In this role, you will help expand and support our network of authorised carers by leading carer recruitment, conducting assessments, and organising training programs to empower carers to provide therapeutic parenting to children and young people. You will collaborate closely with Foster and Kinship Carers and the Permanency Support Program (PSP) team to ensure high-quality care arrangements for children and young people. Main responsibilities

Lead foster care recruitment, conduct assessments, and prepare reports for the Carer Authorisation Panel. Coordinate training for carers, provide ongoing support, and collaborate with the case management team. Assist carers in implementing Therapeutic Response Plans and consult on placement matching. Implement trauma-informed, culturally inclusive practices with a focus on supporting Aboriginal carers and families. Ensure compliance, manage carer databases, supervise support staff, and participate in the on-call roster and professional development.

You'll need:

A bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related discipline (or currently working towards it). At least two years of experience working with children, young people, families, and carers, along with expertise in conducting comprehensive assessments.
