About the OPPORTUNITY Are you passionate about transforming data into actionable insights? If so, join our dynamic team as a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst and play a pivotal role in driving the strategic decision-making processes! The role will be based in Adelaide or Melbourne, reporting to the Data, Analytics and Adoption Lead. We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working. You will be responsible for the design, build and implementation of visually rich dashboards that extract additional value from data, by answering complex business questions including, technical development work, stakeholder management, requirements gathering, and establishing analytical tools targeted at both senior and operational-level users within the business. Key responsibilities include: * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions, to enable data-driven decisions, including assisting in developing proof-of-concepts, * Analyse complex data sets to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization. * Work with a wide range of technical and operationally diverse people across the business, and influence them to develop evidence-based solutions to business issues whilst maintaining key relationships, * Maintain the Communities of Practice – Tableau User group by addressing queries, participate in forums and workshops to represent the Data and Analytics function as well as share information, * Support with Tableau licence management to ensure efficient use of the licence portfolio, * Collaborate with the internal teams on continuous improvement initiatives related to data engineering and data governance * Work collaboratively with the Data Solutions Lead, on data use case capture with a view to develop and implement sustainable data solutions About YOU * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. * Ability to understand business processes, goals, and strategies to translate data insights into actionable recommendations * Demonstrated experience working as a Business Intelligence Analyst/ Developer * Significant experience designing data visualisation solutions which support analysis of large and complex data sets, * Proven track record of success working on BI analytics projects including project co-ordination/management * Broad experience with any analytics tools (ideally with Tableau, but other tools like Power BI will be considered) * Excellent communication and collaboration abilities * Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain Baseline clearance We believe in hiring for potential, we know that some candidates hesitate if they don't tick all the boxes.
