The Opportunity We have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Development Manager to drive Workers and Visitor sales and to account manage business to business (B2B) relationships specifically within the overseas student, visitor, and workers markets.
This role is responsible for driving and managing a portfolio of revenue-generating partners, as well as sourcing new overseas insurance business opportunities.
As the Senior Sales Development Manager, you will need to maintain a clear schedule of activity, work with the wider Overseas Sales Team to consistently generate and manage profitable accounts, and grow these accounts.
The role will also work closely with the universities partnership team, the GEO retail and corporate teams as part of a multi-channel approach to grow the overseas workers and visitors business.
Additionally, you will be responsible for driving OSHC sales from existing partners alongside other Partnership Managers.
In this role, you will develop a detailed and current understanding of the education and migration sector, education and migration policy, and the associated market challenges and opportunities.
Key responsibilities include: Owning the sales lifecycle from prospecting to approach; presentation through to agreement; and ultimately through to activation and revenue generation. Undertaking analysis of emerging market opportunities to ensure an appropriate flow of new business opportunities. Establishing relationships with relevant partners. Actively collaborating with potential business partners to understand requirements and help achieve an optimal outcome. Leveraging key stakeholders to build new relationships with key influencers, decision-makers, and informants to identify opportunities and enhance sales effectiveness. Working closely with other Partnership Managers internally to share best practices and maximize potential account growth. About you With a focus on Asian student markets and the requirement to converse with external partners, intermediate Mandarin language skills, both written and verbal, will be highly regarded.
Your proven (B2B) sales capability will ideally be gained in a complex and fast-paced B2B new business sales environment with proven success in managing value-based account sales strategies.
You will be able to build a pipeline and consistently convert opportunities into successful outcomes; your experience in the use of contemporary sales methodologies will complement your ability to develop and leverage multiple relationships to effectively network a client organization to drive organic sales.
Success will rely on well-executed internal stakeholder management skills (e.g., GEO leaders) as well as account management/sales approaches and ongoing customer-focused problem-solving that delivers favorable outcomes for the business, customer, end consumer, and the Medibank sales objective of profitable growth.
You have strong negotiation and influencing skills, are organized and structured, and are a self-starter with exceptional interpersonal skills, driven and motivated by results.
