Business/Systems Analysts (Information & Communication Technology)Government - Federal (Government & Defence) Full time The Digital Court Program (DCP) is part of the IT section, and is responsible for modernising and optimising technology and capability to support the work of the Court and its users. The DCP is currently designing and developing a new single case management system for the Courts, which is a strategically significant and high-priority project. The Data team sits within the DCP and is managing a Courts-wide data uplift, which includes enhancing our ability to manage and analyse our data and ensuring that technical solutions meet strategic objectives. Within the multi-disciplinary Data team, the Senior Business and Data Analyst will identify, investigate and design solutions to strategic and operational data issues. This work will directly support the design of the new case management system, and will inform the development of reports and other data products to support improved processes and workload monitoring throughout the Courts. The work will involve querying and analysis of operational data, development of recommendations informed by analysis and aligned with strategic objectives, and implementation of solutions.More broadly, the Senior Business and Data Analyst will plan and lead initiatives that support a Courts-wide data uplift, including establishing effective issue management tools and processes; proactively identifying opportunities to improve data quality, consistency and value; developing a productive stakeholder network; and generally supporting the design and implementation of improved data management practices.The successful candidate will have strong technical skills and experience, careful attention to detail, and take a curious, strategic and analytical approach to their work. A working knowledge of the Courts' data and operations is highly desirable. DutiesProactively identify operational and strategic data issues, risks and opportunities, and develop solutions to manage or escalate them through agreed processes. Interrogate operational data to investigate and understand business problems and design solutions or prepare evidence to inform decision-making.Contribute expert and innovative advice to guide the development of high-quality data products and systems that meet business and technical requirements.Comply with, and contribute to the maintenance of, the data management framework and associated artefacts.Develop and utilise a network of internal users to support the design and development of reliable and fit-for-purpose data products.Maintain an awareness of the Courts' broader data and technical environment, and support and contribute expertise to the work of the DCP generally.Selection criteria Demonstrated experience in querying databases using Oracle and/or SQL technologies. Strong problem-solving and business analysis skills, with an ability to understand user needs and translate them into clear, accurate code or design requirements. A demonstrated ability to innovate and deliver quality outcomes under limited supervision, with sound judgment and strategic awareness. Proven experience developing and implementing innovative solutions in a complex technical and operational environment. An ability to develop and maintain productive stakeholder relationships, including as part of a geographically dispersed team. A sound understanding of the Courts' operations and data, or a proven ability to quickly acquire such an understanding. Other considerationsA working knowledge of the Courts' data and operations is highly desirable, and relevant industry or tertiary qualifications would be well regarded.Contact officerFor more information, contact Melanie Jozsa, Data Lead – Digital Courts Program, by email: (email protected) .How to applyTo apply, please complete the application form on the Court's careers portal.
