Senior Business Analyst with high-level technical capability
The OpportunityOur Federal Government Clients are seeking a Senior Business Analyst (EL2 Technical Specialist) to support their Grants Branch in enhancing their grant administration processes.
The role involves working within the Data and Systems Review Section to analyse and document business workflows and identify system improvements that streamline grant management.
The key objective is to create an integrated Grant Administration Model that aligns technical capabilities with business needs.Key Elements of the Opportunity:Business Process Improvement : Design and document efficient business workflows for grant management, including both current (baseline) and future (target) states.Stakeholder Engagement : Collaborate with technical experts, executives, and process owners to ensure business requirements are translated into system capabilities and improvements.Technical Documentation : Create detailed process workflows, data lineage artifacts, and dashboards to support decision-making and system upgrades.Workshops and Facilitation : Lead workshops to negotiate and finalise future state business processes and reporting requirements.Flexible Work : Options for remote or flexible work arrangements are offered, along with the potential for contract extension.This is a high-level technical role requiring strong expertise in business analysis, system design, and stakeholder engagement to drive improvements in the department's grant management processes.Candidates MUST be Australian Citizens, with an active AGSVA Baseline Security clearance.Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):Business Process Design : Analyse and document current and future business process flows related to grant management, ensuring they reflect stakeholder requirements through workshop engagement.Collaboration with Technical Experts : Work closely with technical ICT experts to translate business needs into technical solutions, and communicate technical system impacts to non-technical stakeholders.Process and System Documentation : Create detailed process workflows, including Business Process Model Notation (BPMN) diagrams, data lineage artifacts, and a data dictionary for the grant management system.Reporting and Dashboard Design : Document wireframes for new reporting dashboards and contribute to the technical design of reporting and system improvements.Workshop Facilitation : Lead workshops to engage stakeholders, explain process interdependencies, and negotiate outcomes for future state business processes and system changes.About usCanberra Consulting focuses on delivering highly skilled and qualified professionals to our clients.
