About the role:

Working in the Technology Product Management Unit, you will support the development and management of EPA's strategic approach to delivery of digital capabilities to enable and improve EPA's regulatory functions. You will work closely with stakeholders from across the EPA to understand and align with organisational strategies, business requirements, and emerging needs, and elaborate initiatives and features. You will support the Product Manager in crafting Digital Roadmaps to communicate and plan for ongoing improvement and innovation on EPA's digital platforms. In this role you will:

Contribute to the design and development of business processes in line with the standards set by EPA, supporting understanding and alignment across the EPA in the planning and delivery of digital capabilities on EPA's regulatory platforms. Ensure business requirements are identified and defined, incorporating these into strategic planning across the full product lifecycle. Proactively manage risk, business values, and business priorities. Develop product definition and elaborate initiatives and features to enable technology teams to effectively progress into detailed delivery planning, including estimates, stories, and build requirements. Collaborate with Business Analysts across Information Technology to decompose product definitions into a backlog of Features, Epics, and User Stories. Lead analysis of regulatory requirements and emerging needs to support an organisational understanding and approach to digital improvement aligned with strategic objectives.

Skills and experience:

Demonstrated experience in business analysis with knowledge of Business Analysis Methodologies (BABOK). Demonstrated experience with process modelling and improvement and experienced in Process Modelling Standards (BPMN) and use of Visio or equivalent process modelling software. Experience working in an Agile environment along with a thorough understanding of Agile and the Scrum approach to achieving agility, particularly Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). Application of business systems thinking and gap analysis with the ability to understand, communicate, and apply conceptual thinking. Demonstrated skills in workshop facilitation, requirement elicitation, and specification (including in User Story format). A relevant tertiary degree and/or postgraduate qualification in business management, information technology, or a related discipline is desirable.
