Job Description Overview
As a Technical Business Analyst, you will collaborate with Project Managers, business leaders, and cross-functional teams to document and deliver business and technical requirements throughout project phases. You'll assist with reports and briefs for senior leadership, coordinate resources, and support team collaboration. Your role includes facilitating workshops, gathering feedback, and obtaining formal sign-off from stakeholders. You should have experience producing high-quality Business Requirements and Functional Specifications, as well as screen flows. You will apply project lifecycle standards and methodologies, leveraging tools and people effectively to achieve objectives within scope, budget, and timelines. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in collaborative environments and manage ambiguity are essential. You will also work with the Portfolio Manager to identify and implement continuous improvements in your role.
Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities Strategic Focus Drive the definition of business problems via in-depth investigation and gathering of technical and non-technical information. Outline detailed business requirements and detailed technical requirements for a solution and ensure the delivered solution meets those business requirements. Traceability between the technical and functional requirements and the development and then testing of same. Operational Management Identify stakeholders and facilitate discussions or workshops to understand needs, requirements, and priorities. Gather, validate, and document business and technical requirements/use cases. Analyse data to inform and validate opportunities and requirements. Model business processes and identify opportunities for process improvements. Analyse impacted systems and detail changes needed for efficient development. Understand customer experience and how it influences business and technical requirements. Collaborate with teams to solve business challenges and create clear, concise requirements. Develop and improve Analyst methodologies and processes for continuous improvement. Create dashboards and reports for portfolio analysis, such as Requirement/Epic/Story breakdowns. Analyse backlogs and identify synergies between projects for efficiency. Store and host business and technical requirements to build a knowledge base for future use. Chair and facilitate a center of excellence for Analyst roles. Provide recommendations for continuous improvement and role efficiency at the portfolio level. Support or perform functional testing and report issues to Developers. Ensure testing is documented and collaborate with the Test Lead and Project Manager for adequate coverage. People Leadership Be a natural leader in your field so you can guide, coach and develop team members on complex issues with practical workable approaches/solutions leading to long term skill growth. Build productive and professional relationships with key stakeholders, other cross-functional team members and Senior Leadership roles. Display role model behaviors with facilitation, communication, and collaboration Experience & Personal Attributes 5+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst covering both Business and Technical Requirements. Proficient in project management fundamentals and how the Analyst role contributes (estimation, planning, risk management, change management, etc.). Experienced in using project management and scheduling software. Skilled in creating reports, charts, and graphs for executive presentations. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Service Now, Jira, and SharePoint. Knowledge and experience in Agile delivery practices. Experience working with multiple business and technical delivery teams. Ability to work well under pressure, manage ambiguity, and be self-driven. Strong presentation skills and experience educating staff on new concepts and processes. Excellent analytical, presentation, and communication skills (oral and written).
