Overview of the role This is a fantastic time to be joining Suncorp as the industry goes through significant change.
As a result, we are looking for strong Senior Business Analyst with a solid technical understanding and experience working on Infrastructure projects.
You will be working closely with business stakeholders to define the need, network/systems engineers, solution architects, as well as delivery-side resources; as the Snr BA this is a great opportunity to refine existing frameworks and processes and establish solid agile practices, providing significant autonomy and responsibility.
Suncorp has recently undergone a significant transformation moving our data centres to the cloud, but there is so much more to be done.
You will have the opportunity to join our large Analysis Chapter that supports a variety of medium to large scale programs across the Suncorp Group.
The Chapter consists of around 290 like-minded analysts, where ideas and best practice are shared via masterclasses and knowledge sharing.
You will support projects being delivered in a continuous delivery model (Agile) and supporting the platform.

What you'll do: Build strong relationships through engagement with colleagues, and stakeholders across Business and Technology.
Document current and future state processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
Use information gathering techniques to proactively discover requirements and synthesise information accurately, completely, and coherently.
Work collaboratively with delivery teams and business stakeholders to gather, validate and document business requirements and develop recommendations and solutions that meet business and customer needs.
Raise, and support mitigation and resolution of, risks and issues using established tools and frameworks were applicable.
Create detailed user stories (in JIRA) to support delivery.
Work close with squad / project members, including but not limited to Platform Delivery leads, Scrum Master, architects, Developers, Tech Leads, Test Analyst to identify, capture, plan and deliver changes.
Mentor/train team members; participate and contribute to business analyst chapter and/or forums providing insights and thought leadership Suncorp offers a hybrid way of working where you will be expected to be in the office approx.
2 days per week.
What you'll bring: Minimum of 8 years' business analysis experience in a project/delivery orientated role, from a large organisation.
Experience working on Infrastructure projects.
Technical card refinement, prioritisation, planning and backlog/release management.
Minimum 3 years' Agile, Lean and waterfall experience including knowledge of Agile practices, workshops, and Agile ceremonies facilitation.
Must be able to translate and understand business and technical requirements and provide appropriate alternatives and solutions to meet those requirements.
Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship management and influencing skills including experience in dealing with various stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
Strong team player with a positive attitude, willingness to learn and desire to make a difference.
Must be able to manage multiple complex initiatives with competing deadlines.
