Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Senior Business Analyst (BA) within the Enterprise Systems Uplift (ESU) Section, Enterprise & Policing Systems (EPS) Branch, Chief Information Officer (CIO) Command.
The Senior BA will be a member of a multi-disciplined project team responsible for the delivery of outcomes, change and benefits for the AFP and relevant external stakeholders.
As a Senior BA, you will be required to act as a critical partner to stakeholders and assist ESU projects by analysing business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and eliciting requirements.
The Senior BA will have a strong focus on stakeholder collaboration, communication and problem solving in alignment with the objectives of the project, and more broadly the AFP.
What will you do? In this role you will:
Work collaboratively with business and technical stakeholders to identify their needs, reach agreement on the objectives and gain commitment to achieving results.Assess, evaluate and document business improvement processes, strategies, initiatives, policies and user guidelines.Elicit and prioritise functional and non-functional requirements; maintain product backlog; develop user stories and acceptance criteria; develop use cases and map processes.Analyse complex ICT business issues, applying expertise to identify and recommend courses of action.Validate and ensure that deliverables meet business requirements.Establish and maintain effective relationships with project team members, stakeholders and vendors to ensure successful project outcomes.Contribute to and implement improved ICT practices and procedures.Provide mentoring and training as well as deliver presentations to various stakeholders.Minimum Requirements: You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.Minimum of three years' experience in a like or related field.Relevant BA qualifications or experience or knowledge.Proven experience contributing to the understanding of complex requirements, across internal and external stakeholders, customers and suppliers.Professional written and verbal communications skills.Stronger relationship building with relevant technical and non-technical stakeholders.Thorough knowledge of Agile methodologies, especially scrum and DevOps.Experience in facilitating workshops, delivering presentations and providing training.Leadership skills & experience with mentoring, coaching and training.Additional Information This position is an AFP Band Level 7.This position has been advertised in multiple locations and can be performed from any of the locations.National travel may be required.Proof of a minimum of two COVID-19 vaccinations (or one dose if the Janssen vaccine was used) will be required if an offer of employment is made.Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion At the AFP we value the different perspectives, approaches and lived experiences of our people, and recognise that our collective intelligence and diversity is what makes us stronger.
