Business/Systems Analysts (Information & Communication Technology) Our client is a large government department seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join them on a contract through to June 2025, with extensions available. This role is based in Brisbane CBD with some work-from-home options.
Background: The department is undertaking the following activities, and this role will be responsible for analysing and developing requirements, working with team members and a dedicated developer:
Replace an existing complex data warehouse system, which draws data from a Power Platform system, with a simpler Azure Synapse-based system and a .Net API.Redevelop an old application to use modern programming languages.Update a tool that consolidates and transforms event information from various sources, such as Case Management systems, and integrates with several consumer systems.Responsibilities: As the Senior Business Analyst, you will:
Lead and manage business and systems analysis activities for the listed projects.Identify, develop, and review requirements specifications (including business, functional, non-functional, user, and implementation requirements) for ICT-enabled initiatives.Establish relationships and collaborate with both business and technical stakeholders to effectively discover, define, validate, prioritize, and manage requirements that translate into business benefits.Apply appropriate business analysis frameworks and promote the use of suitable techniques, methodologies, and tools, preferably aligned with the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK).Identify project delivery issues and risks, assist with mitigation strategies, and escalate where necessary.Demonstrate the ability to lead, manage, and mentor fellow team members.Qualifications Required: While there are no mandatory qualifications, the following qualifications and experiences would be highly regarded:
