Effective negotiation skills.Senior Business AnalystJob no: 887016Work type: Full timeLocation: Adelaide CBDCategories: Administration, Business and Management, Research and Data AnalysisDepartment for Health and Wellbeing - Commissioning and Performance - Data, Analytics, and InsightsSalary: $108,109 to $116,864 - ASO7 - Full Time / Term Contract up to 12 MonthsOverview:Primary Objective:The Senior Business Analyst is primarily responsible for providing an interface between business stakeholders and the Data, Analytics, and Insights branch.The Senior Business Analyst will work collaboratively with stakeholders to elicit, develop, and document requirements with respect to data and/or reporting requirements and to provide advice on possible options to meet these requirements, in order to reach agreement about how the requirements should be met.The Senior Business Analyst will also assist with the development of specifications and provide input into project plans to deliver solutions to the business, as well as playing a role in the development, testing and implementation phases of the solution delivery.Knowledge, Skills and Experience:ESSENTIAL MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducational/Vocational Qualifications:NilPersonal Abilities/Aptitudes/Skills:Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in a clear, concise and logical manner with all levels of personnel.Ability to build and maintain working relationships with stakeholders.Ability to identify and analyse problems of a complex nature and formulate and document practical solutions with recommendations.Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team, under limited direction, make well informed and timely decisions, be flexible and operate effectively in an environment of complexity, pressure and change and ensure that the required standards of accuracy and quality are met within tight timeframes.Excellent time management, organisational and prioritisation skills and ability to balance multiple priorities.Effective negotiation skills.High standard of professional competence and an ethical approach.Experience:5+ years' experience as a Business Analyst in a healthcare environment, documenting requirements, performing data analysis, making data driven analytical decisions, and recommending appropriate reporting solutions.Intermediate level of knowledge and of relational databases, database structures and design, systems design, data management, data warehousing.4+ years' experience with multiple software development life cycle methodologies and requirements' documentation approaches (features, user stories, use cases, domain models, and logical data models).Intermediate or better level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Visio, PowerPoint.Intermediate or better proficiency with SharePoint and MS Project.Demonstrated increasing responsibility for documenting and developing solution technology to support business problems.Knowledge:Knowledge of national health reporting obligations, clinical registries and hospital accreditation processes.DESIRABLE CHARACTERISTICSEducational/Vocational QualificationsFormal qualifications in Computer Science or Business Analysis or similar.ExperienceExperience working within SA Health.KnowledgeKnowledge of data in relation to hospital-based systems.The South Australian public sector promotes diversity and flexible ways of working part-time.
