About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our Wholesale Markets team. In this role, you will contribute to enhancing AGL's Wholesale Markets platforms by streamlining trade lifecycle management, improving risk assessment accuracy, and optimizing financial reporting. You will take end-to-end accountability for all analysis activities on complex initiatives from inception through to delivery.
Key Responsibilities Facilitate discussions with stakeholders to define initiative objectives and requirements.Decompose initiatives into epics and stories, identifying a minimum viable product.Drive the definition of quality of service (non-functional) requirements.Support cost/benefit trade-off decisions and ensure end-to-end process integrity.Facilitate agile estimation, prioritization, and planning workshops.Capture detailed requirements using acceptance criteria scenarios.Champion quality outcomes and lead quality ceremonies throughout delivery.Identify, monitor, manage, and resolve risks, issues, and dependencies.Foster a high-performance culture by participating in retrospectives and driving resolution of action items. Qualifications and Experience Minimum 10 years of IT experience, with at least 8 years in the utilities industry.Expertise in wholesale electricity and gas markets, focusing on trade lifecycle management, finance (MTM, P&L), and risk (CSR) management.Proven ability to analyze complex business challenges and deliver successful outcomes in agile environments.Strong experience with data analysis and discovery for spot markets and futures price index data.Expertise in financial contract lifecycle management and risk modeling within the wholesale energy market.Strong hands-on expertise with SQL Server and complex SQL queries.
