Senior Business Analyst (EL1) – Household Statistical Production and Futures Branch salary : $113,288 - $130,959 (plus 15.4% super) permanent position; full-time or part-time hours; flexible working arrangements The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) are looking to fill a Senior Business Analyst role in the Household Statistical Production and Futures Branch to manage the transition of data collection processes from paper to a new digital solution. This is a permanent position at the Executive Level 1 classification level. The successful applicant can worth either full-time or part-time hours out of our office located in Belconnen although a hybrid model of working from home and the office applies. About the role We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst with proven experience designing, testing and supporting digital products for data collection. Having data analysis experience is beneficial as you will be working closely with the statistical team to deliver a solution used to collect and produce ABS statistics. This information is used to assist government in strengthening policy decision making and support evaluation. It informs important decisions across Australia, including by governments, businesses, local communities, and individual people and households. Key partnerships exist with government agencies including the Reserve Bank of Australia, Treasury, Department of Social Services, universities and the private sector.  The responsibilities of a Senior Business Analyst may include: work on a complex and fast paced project problem solve to understand, interpret and validate complex data requirements liaise with stakeholders across business to define solutions, with consideration to both business need and platform operational health evaluate, analyse and communicate system requirements to meet project and business outcomes manage work to ensure the agreed work program is delivered on time and to agreed quality expectations, liaising with the Director of the section to manage any key risks maintain an awareness of broader IT and Data strategies and initiatives, analyse their impact on the local strategy/forward work program, then take necessary steps to ensure alignment. salary : $113,288 - $130,959 (plus 15.4% super) location: Canberra permanent position; full-time or part-time hours; flexible working arrangements The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) are looking to fill a Senior Business Analyst role in the Household Statistical Production and Futures Branch to manage the transition of data collection processes from paper to a new digital solution. What we are looking for We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst with a minimum of three years' experience leading the analysis and design of digital business systems. You must have most or all the following:  analytical and conceptual skills, including the ability to problem solve and make decisions based on analytical evidence eliciting and documenting requirements including producing project documentation excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills, that can be used in both internal and external environments ability to facilitate workshops experience in generating and communicating process and data model documentation. Also highly desirable are: academic qualifications in Business information systems, statistics, mathematics, economics, psychology/social sciences, or other fields with a strong quantitative component strong working knowledge of relevant applications, including Sparx Enterprise Architecture and JIRA.
